Manna — Terms of Service

By downloading and using the Manna app, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please do not use the app.

1. Description of Service

Manna is a Bible memorization application that helps users memorize text using progressive mastery techniques and spaced repetition. The core KJV Bible memorization features are free. Premium features (custom text input, file import, advanced analytics, etc.) are available via subscription.

The King James Version (KJV) Bible text is in the public domain and is provided at no cost.

2. Free Features

The following features are free for all users, forever:

• Full KJV Bible text and browser
• 5-step progressive memorization system (Read, First Letters, Key Words Missing, All Words Missing, Full Recall)
• Spaced repetition scheduling (SM-2 algorithm)
• Voice recall with speech recognition
• Typing recall
• Daily Manna (daily verse rotation)
• Streaks and achievements
• Scripture memory plans
• Progress tracking
• Push notification reminders

No account is required. Free features will never be paywalled.

3. Premium Subscription

Pricing

Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region. Apple or Google may charge applicable taxes.

Payment

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is disabled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period
• The cost of renewal depends on the plan selected

Managing Subscriptions

• Subscriptions can be managed and auto-renewal disabled through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings
• No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active period
• Any unused portion of a free trial period (if offered) will be forfeited upon purchasing a subscription

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store according to their respective refund policies. We do not have access to process refunds directly.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Manna for its intended purpose — memorizing text. You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to bypass premium feature restrictions
• Redistribute or resell the app or any portion of it

5. User Content

Any text you input for memorization (custom text, imported files, etc.) remains yours. We do not access, read, or store content you add to the app. All user content is stored locally on your device.

6. Intellectual Property

• The Manna app, its design, code, and original content are owned by Shepherdboard
• The KJV Bible text is in the public domain
• Scripture memory plan selections are curated by us but consist of public domain Bible verses
• Achievement names and descriptions are original content owned by Shepherdboard
• Premium features and their implementations are proprietary

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Manna is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• That the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• That memorization results will meet any particular standard

Memorization effectiveness varies by individual. The app provides tools based on established cognitive science, but individual results depend on your effort, consistency, and learning style.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shepherdboard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. KJV Text Accuracy

The King James Version Bible text included in Manna is based on the standard 1769 Oxford edition. While we have made every effort to ensure accuracy, we do not warrant that the text is completely error-free. If you find a textual error, please contact us so we can correct it.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will:

• Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
• Provide notice within the app for material changes
• Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance

11. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to discontinue the app or any feature with reasonable notice. Premium subscriptions will be honored through the end of their paid period.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
